I've admired the work of Biba Schutz for a number of years now. I am always blown away by the line quality in her pieces. That why its exciting to note that Biba will be exhibiting both jewelry and sculpture at this year's Smithsonian Craft Show.

The Smithsonian Craft Show is fast approaching (April 19-22), so I thought I'd showcase a few of the artists over the next week or so. If you're in the DC area that weekend, its worth a trip. But if you can't make the show, the website is loaded with artist images.

I have to admit, I'm really intrigued by this bread ring, a collaboration between Polly Wales and Lina Peterson. It really does look good enough to eat.

I came across the work of Shimara Carlow while browsing the Dazzle website. Shimara carries that white-silver color and dome shape through both her jewelry and metalwork, which really connects the two bodies of work.
